Got local? Since 1986, the Laura Russo Gallery has offered some of the finest contemporary art from Washington and Oregon, representing over fifty artists and estates. Laura Russo herself is sadly no longer with us, but her legacy lives on in the vision of current director Martha Lee, now in her fifteenth year with the gallery. This legacy includes a deep commitment to informing and educating the public through monthly free artist talks and a welcoming and warm environment. Although the Laura Russo Gallery is off the well-beaten First Thursday path, it is conveniently located near the streetcar line and also features off-street parking. It’s a great place to start your outings on a First Thursday. There are at least two exhibitions featured every month in the gallery’s huge and beautifully laid-out space so don’t miss the opportunity to take in some great talent from our own backyard.
